Snogging the boogeyman under the mistletoe. Exchanging stuffed stockings with the town's burly orc. Sharing a bed with a demon and her succubus spouse.

These are just a few of the scenes you can write into your very own Christmas monster romance using the romance writing prompts below. I've made these writing prompts a little kinky, and in addition to kinks, I'm giving you tropes, settings, and premises, but no scene prompts. I want you to write the scene that most calls to you, based on the premise.

So put on some festive tunes, turn on your twinkle lights, and see where these story prompts take you!

1. Tropes: Mail order bride, marriage of convenience Kink: Size difference Setting: Big city MC 1: Down-on-her-luck candymaker who gets tricked into becoming a mail order bride by an evil warlock MC 2: Cinnamon roll bogeyman Premise: When MC 1 visited her local bank for a loan to keep her candy shop open through the holiday season, she got one—on the condition that she also agrees to take part in the warlock banker's new mail order bride business. Desperate, and unwilling to lose the shop she worked so hard to build, she accepts. And two days later, she meets her soon-to-be-husband, a kind-hearted bogeyman who needs to marry if he wants to keep his family's bookstore running. They agree to keep their marriage chaste, at first, but no ice storm in the world could cool the sizzling chemistry that burns hotter every day they spend together, or the love that builds over nights in the bookstore and days spinning candycanes almost as sweet as their connection.
   

2. Tropes: FFM, forced proximity Kink: Voyeurism Setting: Ski chalet MC 1: Demon MC 2: Succubus, and MC 1's husband MC 3: Human, and MC 1's best friend Premise: When MC 1 & 2 invite MC 3 to spend Christmas in their ski chalet, their only intention is to serve her some Christmas cheer after a bad break-up. But a day on the slopes and a night tucked under blankets by the fire, along with some mulled wine, bring the friends close enough that MC 2 confesses his fantasy: to watch MC 1 and 3 together. What starts as simple fantasy fulfillment soon turns into deeper intimacy as the three connect on an emotional and sexual level, and by the time they leave the chalet, they're all in love.
   

3. Trope: OTT love interest, secret crush Setting: Modern, magical small-town Sweden Kink: Praise kink MC 1: Golden retriever orc carpenter MC 2: Ice queen witch Premise: When MC 2's shop is broken into on St. Lucia's Day, the only carpenter working is MC 1, who just so happens to have been harbouring a serious crush on MC 2 for years. And MC 2, who's spent their life pushing away everyone who tries to get close, finds they can't help falling for the kind carpenter. As their town's Christmas celebrations ramp up, the two fall for each other, and by the night of the annual tree lighting, their love burns brighter than the twinkle lights shining all around the town.
   

4. Trope: Reverse harem Setting: Modern, magical rural Poland Kinks: Breeding kink, cumplay MC 1: Woodland tree spirit (Leshy) MC 2: Demon of misfortune (Likho)

   MC 3: Forest witch (inspired by Baba Yaga) MC 4: Dragon shifter

   Premise: When MC 4 goes to a remote inn to spend the holidays, she's hoping for solitude to heal after the break-up of her marriage. What she finds instead are four monsters keen to give her the attention, love, and care she was so sorely missing in her relationship. And when she expresses a desire to get pregnant, the inn's four owners are only too happy to help.
